Seven Layer Dip – Party Classic

This summer, it’s likely you’ll be invited to a lot of BBQ parties, or perhaps throw a few of your own! This 7 Layer Dip is a party classic back the U.S., and it’s easy to see why. The Tex-Mex flavors combine to create a delicious taste, and scooped up with tortilla chips, it’s easy to stand around and chat while eating it. It’s also very easy and fast to make, you don’t need any special culinary skills if you use prepared products. I like to serve this dip in a more shallow dish than what you see here, I just didn’t happen to have any clear shallow dishes to photograph the layers in. (For a deeper bowl I provide small plates to take a scoop of dip out and place it on the plate, as dipping into a deep bowl with a chip isn’t an easy thing to do.)

Whichever way you serve it, I’m sure you and your friends will enjoy!

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together sour cream and taco seasoning until thoroughly combined. Set aside.
  2. Spread the refried beans in an even layer in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer the guacamole on top of the beans, followed by a layer of the sour cream mixture, then the cheese, tomatoes, olives, red onion, lettuce and green onions. Then sprinkle the cilantro on top.
  3. Serve immediately with corn chips for dipping. Or cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 6 hours.
