My fly-fisherman husband, and co-founder of Firebelly Fly Fishing, recently hosted the very first Orvis Down The Hatch Film Festival here in Switzerland, and kindly asked me to provide food for the 100+ attendees. We decided on Pulled Pork Sandwiches, which happen to currently be a trend food here! They were a huge hit, I think you will love them.
You can make this in the oven or the slow cooker. Because my slow cooker is on the small side, it was better to make them in the oven. I baked them on low for 7 hours, and they turned out moist and flavorful. Either way you choose to do it will be fine.
This recipe is for South Carolina Style Pulled Pork. Other regions of the U.S. make it slightly differently. I do not claim expertise or authenticity – I just know what I like! The BBQ sauce I use is here. It’s a slightly sweet sauce, with hints of vinegar. The sauce is made separately and then mixed with the shredded meat.
